Members & Invitations

Invite people to your organization, team, or project via email and grant them roles. Both new and existing users can join safely with a single invitation link.

Overview

Member management is an invitation-first model based on email addresses. A user with permission to invite members picks a target organization, team, or project and a role; access is activated the moment the invitee opens the link and accepts.

Sending Invitations

From the Members screen in the console, pick an email and role and send the invitation. The flow branches based on whether the recipient already has an account.

72h
New user

An invitation email including a password-setup link is sent. The link is valid for 72 hours.

48h
Existing user

An invitation link that can be accepted immediately after sign-in is emailed. The link is valid for 48 hours.

Invitation States

Invitations move through three states from the moment they are created. Admins can filter the list by state.

PENDING

Sent but not yet accepted. Valid until expiration.

ACCEPTED

Accepted and reflected in the member list.

EXPIRED

Passed its expiration, or invalidated by a resend.

Admin actions
1Resend — sends a fresh invitation link and immediately invalidates the previous one.
2Cancel — revokes the invitation so it can no longer be accepted.

Accepting an Invitation

When the recipient opens the link, the invitation details are shown, and the role is granted upon acceptance.

1Link validity, expiration, and email match are verified automatically.
2Access to the target organization, team, or project is activated as soon as the invitation is accepted.
3For invitations to a team or project, the basic member access needed to navigate to the parent organization is granted as well.

For example, a user invited to a project is automatically registered as a basic member of the parent team and organization so they can navigate to it.
